The newest representative is the Huawei Watch GT3 Pro, which I’ve been wearing for a little over three weeks, and I’ve charged it once.
The top of the range of Huawei smart watches is represented by their flagship model Huawei Watch 3 Pro. It differs from the GT series in support for Wi-Fi and eSIM, but that does not mean that it is generally better because of that.
First of all, it is bulkier and heavier than this Watch GT 3 Pro model, and in my experience, its battery lasts half as long.

Design, ergonomics and portability
Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro has a very beautiful and elegant classic design. It is available in two sizes (46 and 42mm), and in addition to the difference in size, they also have different battery capacity and materials used.
This larger one comes with a titanium case with ceramic on the underside and an interchangeable strap. The smaller one is made entirely of ceramics and in white color will be a favorite of the female audience.
My test 46-millimeter one came with a leather strap, and here you’ll find titanium and sports silicone ones.
Anyway, I wore a leather belt for a while, and then replaced it with a sporty silicone one, which I liked better, especially when swimming in the sea. Yes, it can do both and do it better than any other smartwatch today.
It is waterproof to a depth of up to 30m, and it is not afraid of the sea or salt water. I swam and did some diving with him in the sea, without any consequences. It is still recommended to wash it off in fresh water after swimming in the sea and diving, which is not a problem for me because I would have showered anyway.
On the right side of the watch, which is significantly lower in profile than the mentioned Watch 3 Pro model, there is one button and a rotating crown, with which you can then scroll through the contents on the screen and press it.
On the right is the speaker opening, and on the left is the microphone, because this watch also supports Bluetooth telephony.
On the bottom, there are modern sensors for monitoring heart rate and ECG, SpO2 blood oxygen saturation, sleep monitoring and skin temperature. They are protected partly by ceramic and partly by sapphire glass.
The Watch GT 3 Pro is comfortable and light on the hand. Much more comfortable than the mentioned Watch 3 Pro monstrosity. I wore it continuously with no problems or irritation.
The 46mm version of the Watch GT 3 Pro has a beautiful round 1.43″ AMOLED screen with a resolution of 466×466. Its display is sharp and vivid, and it’s bright enough to use indoors and in direct sunlight. And a light sensor that adjusts it automatically.
The screen frame is not the thinnest, but it is better protected from getting stuck on door frames. Otherwise, the screen is protected by scratch-resistant sapphire glass.
The screen can be turned on all the time in AlwaysON mode, but there is really no need for that. This would cut the autonomy in half (although still a solid 7 days), and the screen instantly turns on when you turn your wrist.
Harmony OS 2.1
On the software side, we have Huawei’s Harmony OS in version 2.1. The interface is already familiar to us from their previous watches, and it works smoother than ever before.
Choice watchfaceva is quite large. There are classic analog, digital and those with interactive widgets. You can have several of them stored on the watch, and you can download new ones through the Huawei Health application on the paired phone.
Watch GT 3 Pro supports pairing with all Androids and iPhones, but with some limitations. Thus, Huawei’s virtual assistant Celia will only work if it is paired with Huawei phones, and you will not be able to control music playback on iPhones.
Pressing the crown on the side opens the application menu, which can be in the form of a list or a swarm of icons. Pressing the bottom button starts sports activities by default, but it can be reprogrammed.
By swiping from the top of the screen, the quick settings drop down, and the incoming notifications from the bottom. The notification system is still ascetic. It won’t show received photos or emoticons, and you can only reply to messages with predefined responses. Let’s hope that with the maturity of Harmony OS, this will also come to this watch.
It is possible to install additional applications through Huawei Health / App Gallery on the paired phone, but the choice is very limited. There are only a couple of interesting additional applications.
Synchronization with the paired phone and pairing itself is done through the Huawei Health application. Through it, you will adjust the main parameters for monitoring health features, download new watch faces and applications, but also view analyzes of your sports activities, sleep quality and health parameters on the big screen.
If synchronization with Strava and other services is important to you, you won’t get that here, nor will Spotify or other music streaming services.
You can put mp3s on the clock’s memory and listen on paired Bluetooth headphones if you prefer to leave your cell phone at home.
PERFORMANCE, SPORT, HEALTH
Watch GT 3 Pro not only continuously counts steps, monitors heart rate and blood oxygen saturation with you if you need to dive to a depth of 30 m. He also monitors the EKG, although he has not yet received the necessary certificates here.
It also measures body temperature, and at night it monitors the quality of sleep, so in the morning it offers a detailed analysis and advice for a better night’s rest.
Tracks a small million sports activities indoors and outdoors with a fairly accurate and reliable GPS. It offers running courses and training plans, and will remind you when you’ve been inactive for too long.
During training or sports activities, it informs by voice about the progress in the intervals.
I’ll repeat if you depend on Strava or some other services, you won’t get that here.
Huawei here promises 14 days without recharging and it turned out to be a fulfilled promise. You will forget the last time you charged it. In these three weeks, I only charged it once.
Autonomy will depend on whether you will measure heart rate, SpO2 and temperature continuously 24 hours a day, whether you will have the screen always on and how often you will use GPS or exercise.
With some 2-3 training sessions per week, continuous heart rate monitoring and screen off, you can count on at least 10 days of autonomy. That compares favorably to Apple and Samsung watches. It charges wirelessly on the included Qi charger or any other Qi charger. In just 10 minutes on the charger, you get a whole day of autonomy, and full charging takes about 90 minutes.

The Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro is, for me personally, their best smartwatch so far. The design and build quality are excellent. The screen is fantastic, and the battery is such that you will forget the last time you charged it.
It monitors a bunch of sports and health parameters and even EKG.
The notification system is ascetic and if they could improve it a bit it would be really great. The choice of applications is limited, and I personally do not miss Wi-Fi and e-SIM at all.
It would be nice if it supports contactless payment. It is planned, but not yet, at least not in this region.
Water resistance in the sea up to a depth of 30m guarantees peace of mind even during the summer months, and it means a lot to me. Not that I’m going to dive up to 30m, but I don’t want my watch to stop even while I’m wading in the shallows.
The price of this 46mm model with a leather strap is 360 euros, and 490 euros with a titanium strap. It’s not a small difference, so choose.
