INFOGRAPHIC: Amazon fired 85 thousand people
At the end of June of this year, Amazon’s workforce decreased by 85,000, and the company currently employs slightly more than 1.52 million people globally. The record was recorded last year, when exactly those 85,000 workers were employed more than at the beginning of the summer of this year.
It’s safe to say that the coronavirus pandemic only boosted the business of Amazon, which had 800,000 employees in 2019, and slightly less than 400,000 in 2016. But all that could not last forever, fortunately for most other companies in the world.
Nevertheless, despite the cuts and bad forecasts, after the second quarter Amazon managed to make a better business result than expected, and the executive director (CEO) Andy Jassy states that the third quarter will be even more successful.
