The new streaming service SkyShowtime has today announced its official launch on 20 September 2022, when it will bring the ultimate offering of exclusive and legendary entertainment to millions of homes across Europe for the first time.
SkyShowtime, shared joint-venture Comcast (parent company of NBCUniversal and Sky — and Paramount Global (NASDAQ: PARA , PARAA ), will launch its service on September 20 in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. After that, it will become available in the Netherlands during the last quarter of this year. SkyShowtime will continue to launch the service in Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) in the coming months and until the first quarter of 2023. CEE region markets include Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia Specific launch dates and pricing in these markets will be announced in the coming months.
SkyShowtime brings the best entertainment from the world’s biggest studios and from the best authors. With thousands of hours of quality entertainment for the whole family, with this service users will have a wide selection of the world’s most anticipated series and movies.
Through the service, exclusive television premieres and premieres of movies from Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures, the two oldest Hollywood studios that together hold almost 50% of the Hollywood box office, will be available.
SkyShowtime will be home to big movie hits immediately after their theatrical releases such as: Top Gun: Maverick, Jurassic World Dominion, Minions: The Rise of Gru, The Northman, Sing 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, The Lost City, Downton Abbey: A New Era, Nope, Belfast, Ambulance and The Bad Guys.
In addition, SkyShowtime will offer premium scripted series, children’s and family content and a rich selection of legendary titles and box sets from Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks Animation, Paramount+, SHOWTIME®, Sky Studios and Peacock – all available in one place . Original local content, documentaries and specials from the local market will also be available via SkyShowtime.
In the Nordics, as part of its partnership with Paramount, SkyShowtime will replace Paramount+, allowing existing and prospective customers to watch existing Paramount+ favorites such as Halo, Yellowstone, The Offer and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, as well as SHOWTIME® originals Yellowjackets, Dexter: new Bloog, Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber and The First Lady. For the first time, subscribers will also get access to newer and more exclusive premium series and movies featuring the best from Universal Pictures, Sky Originals and NBCUniversal.
Right from the start, customers will be able to watch premieres of highly anticipated SHOWTIME drama series such as American Gigolo, Sky Original’s The Rising, The Fear Index, The Midwich Cuckoos and Law & Order Season 21 from Peacock. In the coming months, series premieres will include Yellowstone Season 5, Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, Vampire Academy, and SHOWTIME’s Yellowjackets Season 2 and Let The Right One In.

The service will be directly available to consumers through the SkyShowtime application on Apple iOS, tvOS, Android devices and through the website: www.skyshowtime.com. The monthly price of SkyShowtime will be €6.99 in Finland, SEK 79 in Sweden, NOK 79 in Norway and DKK 69 in Denmark.
SkyShowtime will also be available through the following distribution partners in the Nordic markets: Allente, RiksTV, Ruutu, Sappa, Stream, Telenor, Tele2, Telia, Telmore and YouSee from Nuuday Group and TV 2 Play.
